Disclaimer: The following (non Jay Leno quotes/paraphrased jokes) does not express or represent political or personal views of the celebrity this club is about. It is only the thoughts and opinions of the individual posting this journal.
Jay Leno: Critics have been highly Critical of Paris Hilton's success. They say that people are famous because they have a talent and are good at something. I guess they haven't seen her Video.
Jay Leno: Can you believe this? The TV ratings for American Idol were MUCH higher than the ratings for the Grammy Awards. Isn't that amazing? Americans would rather watch singers with No Talent over people WITH Talent being Awarded!
These Jay Leno Jokes are to help set the tone/topic of the Rant in this Journal (like always, you don't have to agree with what I have to say). Personally, I think it's just crazy that people are/become more famous than they really need to be. Let's use Paris Hilton for example. She's a model, "singer", "actor/actress", *CoughPornStarCough*, and heiress. There's really almost no denying that her huge (inter)national fame and "Success" (I kinda feel like making a joke and replace that word with "SexCess") is thanks to that Scandalous video she was in. The result of her fame is being able to become a star in a Reality TV show, being an "actress" in movie(s), and being able to release music Single(s)/Album(s), which I know she has no talent for. You can find the most talented and heavenly singers in the most obscure "corners" in the world, but they wouldn't get a dime to their name without publicity/endorsement. I kind of feel those people are cheated out on their deserved opportunities when publicity/popularity is given to those less deserving on that field. There are so many people with artistic, constructive, musical, etc. talents who can conceive the most excellent type of things but are never really given their needed limelight in the sun. I think K-Fed is a talentless schmo who is only famous (and to a certain extent, Rich) just because he was married to Britney Spears.
Now, another thing I wanted to share my two cents on is Publicity, especially towards celebrities. I think that we shouldn't be giving them more "exposure". What I mean is, there are dozens of Tabloids, Paparazzi photos, etc. that poke/pry into the private lives of celebrities (usually scandals). While I do feel that some of these people, like Paris Hilton and her DUI should be publicly recognized/chastised to be put in their place, I do think, on the flip side, that we also invade in their privacy as well. Celebrities are (born) normal people and should be entitled rights to quiet privacy (Unless they perform offensive crimes/embarrassing spectacles) without having to give their reputation/fame a bad/worse stain. It makes me think that our humanity and social integrity remains down the toilet and thus we get some (sometimes) disgusting enjoyment at the expense of others. All in all, human integrity goes (or should apply) both ways: on the side of the celebrities and the side of the Media/public.
